A large moon with a golden lasso around it appears next to the text “It’s A Wonderful Life” and “December 13-19” against a dark, starry sky background.

Calling all educators!

We at West Virginia Public Theatre are happy to announce that in December we will be producing the holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life. We have 4 matinee performances scheduled for school groups and we are currently taking reservations.

As Morgantown’s only fully professional theatre (which means everyone involved in the production is paid for their work), we are excited to be able to bring this show to life to share with our community.  We will be utilizing local professional performers, designers, and directors as well as folks we are bringing in from around the country.

We will also be distributing a study guide compiled by our dramaturg that you are free to use if you wish.

ABOUT THE SHOW:It’s a Wonderful Life, adapted from the classic film, tells the story of George Bailey, a kind hearted man from Bedford Falls who sacrifices his dreams for his family and community, only to face financial ruin and despair on Christmas Eve. His guardian angel, Clarence, is sent to show George a world where he never existed, revealing the profound impact his life had on others and teaching him that no life is a failure as long as it’s lived for others.
