Did My Grandfather Kill My Grandfather?

Did My Grandfather Kill My Grandfather? is a compelling, autobiographical one-man show that follows Vietnamese American actor and playwright Cody LeRoy Wilson’s journey in uncovering his family’s immigration story from Vietnam to America. 

Adopted by an American soldier and brought to West Virginia as a baby, Cody’s mother was left with no connection to her homeland, leaving Cody with endless questions. Over the years, he searches for untraceable answers, only to come to a grim fantasy depicting his two grandfathers on opposing sides of the Vietnam War. At its core, the play asks, “What does it mean to be Asian American?” The conclusion Cody has found is complicated, but it is a all Americans need to hear.

This production in Morgantown marks a homecoming for the show’s creator. Cody was born and raised on a farm in a small West Virginia community called Plum Run. He graduated from West Virginia University in 2014 with a BFA in Acting before moving to New York City to pursue theatre. Now, Cody is thrilled to return home to share this deeply moving story set in the very same holler he was raised in.
