“Clue: On Stage” is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches! Based on the iconic 1985 film which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, this theatrical whodunit will have you on the edge of your seat. At a remote mansion Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to solve… WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!

The Playwright

Playwright – Sandy Rustin

Sandy Rustin is an actress and award-winning playwright named by American Theatre Magazine as one of the “Most-Produced Playwrights of the ’22-’23 season.” Her stage adaptation of the film Clue is one of the most-produced plays in the U.S., with over 3,000 productions worldwide. Her original comedy, The Cottage, premiered on Broadway in July 2023 at The Hayes Theatre (Jason Alexander, director). Other works include: the concert adaptations of Dear World and I Married an Angel for New York City Center Encores!, Mattel’s American Girl Live!The Suffragette’s Murder (upcoming premiere), Rated P for Parenthood (Off Broadway/ABC-TV), Houston (New American Musical Award), Always Something There for Primary Wave Music, and many others. Associate Professor of Acting & Musical Theatre at West Virginia University. Associate member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. Member AEA (since 1997) and SAG-AFTRA (since 2021!).

Miss Scarlet – Alice Zelenko

Alice Zelenko is a recent graduate of NYU Tisch Drama (The Classical Studio, Atlantic Acting School).

She’s a member of the sketch comedy group Enemies to Lovers and works as a teaching artist at Brooklyn Acting Lab. She is very excited to find out whodunnit.

Yvette – Evelina Pristovsek

Evelina Pristovsek is a Slovenian multi-skilled performer who graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, NY. Recent appearances: Girl, Once (Priscilla Beach Theatre, MA), The Art of Training a Goldfish (Teatro Latea, NY), Heart/Broke, a new musical (Don’t Tell Mama, NY). She has danced in Slovenian productions and festivals (Meeting PointN.A.G.Opus 1ZivaTransgeneracije) as an ensemble member and a soloist. Evelina released an original music album, First Evening, on Spotify, played classical piano pieces at Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana, and performed in a choral choir of Music Academy, Ljubljana.

Mrs. Peacock – Shelby Garrett

Shelby Garrett is newly graduated from WVU’s MFA Acting Program! She has toured nationally with Girl’s Night: The Musical and has a range of favorite credits including Nunsense, The Basement Company, Twelfth Night, Narnia: The Musical, and The Wizard of Oz. At WVU, she was involved in numerous productions including Book of Will, Indecent, Carrie: The Musical, The Skriker, Measure for Measure, and The Misanthrope. Shelby has also appeared on TV/Film in Chicago PD and Swan Song (Magnolia Pictures). Love to her amazing family & friends!

Professor Plum – Matthew Brent

Matthew Brent has always been a fan of the arts. He started drawing when he was young with an interest in comics and the emergence of anime. His passion for art led him to study acting at Playhouse West Philadelphia and Abeson Studios. He has been acting for more than ten years as well as writing and producing a variety of projects, some of which have won awards. He thanks his family and friends for their incredible support, especially his mother, who is watching him from above and smiling at everything he is doing.

Mr. Green – Dylan Myers

Dylan Morrison Myers was last heard on stage as a multi-pronged specter in WV Public Theatre’s A Christmas Carol: Radio Play. Washington DC credits include Wild Sky, Solas Nua; HOODED: Or Being Black for Dummies, Mosaic Theatre; When the Rain Stops Falling, First Stage Théâtre Co.; Terminus, Studio Theatre. He has also performed with the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, Kentucky Repertory Theatre, Folger Theatre, Theatre Alliance (DC), Constellation Theatre, Washington Stage Guild and Rorschach Theatre. BFA from Western Kentucky U. 

Mrs. White – Kaitlyn Cheng

Kaitlyn Cheng (she/her) is thrilled to return to WVPT with Clue. What a treat! Kaitlyn most recently worked with Theater Mu in the World Premiere of Hells Canyon. Other previous credits include: The Curious Incident… (West Virginia Public Theatre), Title X (Artemisia Theatre), Three Sisters, and Bike America (NIU). Kaitlyn has also worked as a Voice and Text Assistant: Merry Wives of Windsor 2023 (American Players Theatre). MFA in Acting, Northern Illinois University. Much love to mom, Caleb, and James.

Ensemble – Nathan Costella

Nathan Costella is thrilled to join WVPT this summer and return to his “home among the hills.” Favorite theater credits include, The Ratpack Lounge (Vic), Titanic (Pitman/Major), What Are Tuesdays Like? (Jeff), Little Women (John Brooke), and Urinetown (Robby the Stockfish). As a WVU College of Creative Arts alum, he holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education and minor in Theater. Originally from Western Pennsylvania, Nathan now lives and works in NYC. All my love to my family, David, my teachers, and coaches, and to all my chosen family.

Ensemble – Jamie Froemel

James (Jamie) Froemel has performed with WV Public Theatre as Donald in Community Garden, Steven in A Writer’s Room, and Marley in A Christmas Carol. He has previously worked with the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Greenbrier Valley Theatre, Footlight Players, and Vintage Theatre Company. He is an accomplished storyteller and 4x winner of the West Virginia ‘Biggest Liar’ Contest. With the the WV Humanities Council History Alive! program, he performs across West Virginia as Charles Schulz and Walt Disney. James is a graduate of WVU’s BFA Acting program.

Ensemble – Emarya Montgomery

Emarya Montgomery is a Senior BFA Musical Theatre major at WVU. She has spent 12 years studying acting at Greenbrier Valley Theatre and began acting professionally at nine years old. Emarya has been in 22 amateur plays and 13 mainstage equity productions with GVT, as well as being hired for an off-Broadway staged reading of The Crowd in NYC. She recently worked on WVU’s production of Cinderella, The Misanthrope, Anatomy of a Suicide, Indecent, as well as The Skriker. In addition to this, Emarya works professionally as a violinist.

After a lengthy run in the Off-Broadway production of Sleep No More, Robyne Parrish is thrilled to direct at WVPT. This fall she will direct her new play, Tin Church with Off the Wall NYC.  
Directing: The Sound of Music, Urinetown, Hamlet, The Seagull, Steel Magnolias.
Writing: Still, Birth. 
Artistic Direction: Sonnet Repertory Theatre, Gilbert Theatre.
Acting: Law and Order, Gossip Girl, A Man Called Otto. Theatre Professor at FTCC, private coach with NYC Parrish and Co.
BFA in Drama UNCSA, MFA candidate in Theatre and Pedagogy at PPU. Memberships: Russian Arts Theatre NHYC/Actors Equity/SAG-AFTRA/Dramatists Guild.

Scenic Designer – Maguire Glass

Maguire Glass is elated to debut his first career scenic design with Clue! On Stage at West Virginia Public Theater. Maguire is humbled by this incredible opportunity and thanks the entire production team and cast for their exceptional artistry and dedication. He extends a special thanks to co-designer, mentor, and friend Tamara L. Honesty, without whom none of this would have been possible.

Scenic Designer – Tamara L. Honesty

Tammy Honesty is the Associate Professor of Scenic Design at WVU. In 2022, her scenic design talents debuted on Off-Broadway for The Memory Exam, a world premiere. In 2019, Tammy and a student team at Kent State painted a nearly full-scale 3D-printed replica of Pio Fedi’s Liberty of Poetry which was on display at the Ellis Island National Immigration Museum. She co-authored The Fake Food Cookbook: Props You Can’t Eat for Theatre, Film, and TV. Tammy is a proud member of USA Local 829 and USITT.

Costume Designer – Jackson Berhow

Jackson Berhow is a graduate of Central Washington University, and an MFA candidate at West Virginia University. Art has been a major part of his life for over thirteen years. He loves creating as a hobby and a profession. He enjoys flat patterning, fabric dyeing, thermoplastics, air brushing, carving, casting/mold making, mask making, and one cool yo-yo trick. He has worked with children across a wide age range at San Juan summer camp “Camp Nor’Wester” and the Eau Claire Children’s Theater.

Lighting Designer – Joshua Williamson

Joshua Williamson is the director of the School of Theatre & Dance at WVU. He is also an ETCP certified entertainment electrician and member of IATSE Local #578. Williamson also works as a freelance lighting designer through his company, Compass Productions. His recent designs include the pre-game lighting for WVU Basketball, the WVU Medicine Children’s Fundraising Gala, and several shows for WVU including Bright Star, Pirates of Penzance, and the movie version of King Lear co-produced by WVU and West Virginia Public Broadcasting. Sound Designer – Elise Lein

Elise Lein (Sound Designer) is a second-year theater tech and design student at WVU with a focus in sound engineering and design. This is her second year working with WVPT, but her first as a Designer. She is excited to bring her designs to life. Her design work with the school includes Cinderella and Book of Will. She hopes to work in theater or College Humor and thanks the entire production team for welcoming her to their world.

Stage Manager – Rachel Rock

Rachel Rock, she/her (Stage Manager). Rachel has graduated from West Virginia University this past May with a major in Theatre Design and Technology with a focus in Stage Management. After she closes Clue: On Stage, she will be heading to Las Vegas to work as a Stage Management Intern with Cirque du Soleil’s Ka. She would like to thank her partner, family, and mentors for their endless support.
