Greg and Kate are empty nesters. Greg is a middle-aged man with a job in finance, seeking meaning in his life. His wife, Kate, is a busy personality in the public school system. Sylvia is a beautiful lab/poodle mix looking for a new home. Greg loves Sylvia instantly but Kate is not so sure that she is ready to be tied down by an animal. A.R. Gurney’s Sylvia is a smart, silly, sophisticated, and occasionally salty comedy about relationships, nature, and growing older.
